Shattuck Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month- June

Congratulations to the “Shattuck Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month" for June 2024. This award is given to the Shattuck Senior Citizen's Center for their outstanding achievements, support to the Community of Shattuck, and active engagement with the Shattuck Chamber of Commerce.

The Shattuck Senior Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. They provide over 2,500 delicious, low cost meals to seniors every year. The Senior Center opens their doors on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for seniors to come enjoy a nice meal and activities, such as sit and fit exercises on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 am. Harriett Wray, Shattuck Senior Center Director says "We provide the only social activity some of our attendees have." The Center operates off of donations received from daily meals, Sunday meals, and their big fundraiser dinner in October. They depend on community support in order to continue offering their services. They host local agencies for monthly presentations to keep the community aware and up to date on various events and services in our area. In fact, the Senior Center also allows the Shattuck Chamber to use their facility to host our General Assembly Meetings the first Wednesday of every month and provide all attendees, seniors and the general public, with a meal for only $8!
